The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival

This weekend was the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, and the event itself has grown over the years!
You can get there by parking at the Denver Sports center for five dollars and taking the free bus to Sloan's Lake Park.

I've been to the festival a few times, and this year I had never seen so many sponsors, vendors and performers for the occassion.  It was their 15th Dragon Boat Festival!

The Dragon Boat Festival is a race with different teams from all over the country. Their tents were set up near the lake's edge, and the boats raced all day from 8 am to 6pm.
Before the race, the teams got ready near the docks, and you could watch them while grabbing a meal from the food trucks and tents.
They had Korean Barbecue, Japanese and Hawaiian fusion and lots of food from India and Thailand!
The vendors' tents were like a sea of umbrellas!
They also had  bubbles you walk in on the water. This area was on the other side of the festival, away from the races.
They had live entertainment from different countries in Asia, from Martial Arts demonstrations . . .
to dance performances . . .

to Lion Dances!

It was a well organized and fun event!
